About This Service
This service will give contractors a faster and much more accurate means of bidding Irrigation and Landscape Projects. Don’t lower your price to try to get more work, bid more jobs at the margin your company needs to make a profit. Send me an image file, dwg, or mail me the printed drawing. Upon receiving the information I can quote you a price to do an accurate material takeoff and prepare the drawings for your use. Jobs sent by email will have a quick turnaround and will be quoted at a lower price. You will need to download a free program to view the drawings. You will be able to zoom in on the drawings, print a portion of the drawing, or print the entire drawing. You can print the drawing to scale, even on a small printer. For those of you who want larger prints, you can send them directly to Kinko’s from your office and have them waiting for you to pick up (requires Kinko’s File Prep Tool to be installed on your computer). The material takeoff will be available in Microsoft® Word and Excel formats. Irrigation material takeoffs will include all sprinkler heads, nozzles, pipe, valves, controllers, wiring, swing joints, sleeves, valve boxes, and wire connectors. In the future, fittings will be a part of this service. On some jobs where ductile iron fittings are required, they will be a part of the takeoff now. This takeoff will reflect the material that is actually on the design. Landscape material takeoffs will include the plants, trees, tree stakes, and mulch for tree wells. The grass will be marked on the drawings in square yards for the area designated and a total in the material takeoff. Planting areas will be calculated in cubic yards and marked on the drawing. This calculation will be at the depth of 2 inches. You will have to determine the depth of your mixed soil and the depth of mulch needed. Hydromulching will be marked as square feet.

To extract the contents of the above zip files, you will need a zip utility program such as WinZIP or PKZIP. To download a zip file, click on the file name with the right mouse button. Select Save this program to disk in the resulting dialog box and click on the OK button. Place the file in the appropriate directory on your hard drive. For example; you may want to place the file in a C:\TEMP directory. Once the file is in the proper directory on your hard drive, locate the file using Windows Explorer and extract the contents using your zip utility program.
